Chip Repairs $120.00
Don't let a small chip become a big problem. Our expert windscreen chip repair service quickly and effectively restores the integrity of your car's glass, preventing further damage and ensuring optimal visibility. Save time and money by repairing chips promptly, often avoiding the need for a full windscreen replacement.

The Bullseye
Spotted a "bullseye" on your windscreen? This common type of chip, characterised by a circular impact point with concentric rings, is often caused by stones or debris. While it might look like a small target, don't let it become a major problem. Our expert technicians specialise in bullseye chip repairs, restoring your windscreen's strength and clarity efficiently, often preventing the need for a full replacement.

The Star
Notice a small impact on your windscreen with tiny legs radiating outwards? That's a "star chip," a common form of damage often caused by stones or road debris. While it might appear minor, these cracks can quickly spread, compromising the structural integrity of your windscreen and your visibility. Our expert technicians specialise in repairing star chips, meticulously filling the damaged area to restore clarity and strength, often saving you the expense of a full windscreen replacement.

The Crater
A "crater chip" on your windscreen is more than just a surface imperfection. Characterised by a distinct, often deeper hollow where a piece of glass has been dislodged, this type of chip is typically caused by a significant impact from road debris. Due to their depth, crater chips require prompt and precise attention to prevent further damage and maintain the structural integrity of your windscreen. Our specialists are adept at repairing crater chips, restoring the glass and ensuring a clear, safe view for your drive.

The Combination
Sometimes a single impact can cause multiple types of damage. A "combination chip" on your windscreen is just that: a complex chip that displays features of a bullseye, star, or even a small crater, all within the same damaged area. These intricate chips demand a higher level of expertise for successful repair due to their varied characteristics. Our skilled technicians are adept at assessing and meticulously repairing combination chips, using advanced techniques to ensure the best possible restoration of your windscreen's integrity and optical clarity, often avoiding the need for a full replacement.

Windscreen Chip Repair Liability
At Cessnock Autoglass, we take every precaution and apply industry best practices to ensure the safe and effective repair of windscreen chips. However, due to the unpredictable nature of glass fractures, especially those that are already cracked or structurally compromised, there is an
inherent risk that the damage may spread or worsen during the repair process.

By proceeding with the repair, you acknowledge and accept the following:

-
All care will be taken during the repair process, but no responsibility is accepted for any further cracking, spreading, or failure of the windscreen that may occur during or after the repair.
-
The structural integrity of the glass may already be compromised prior to repair, and the application of pressure, heat, or resin may cause the damage to extend.
-
In some cases, the chip may remain visible after repair, and the repair is intended to restore strength and prevent further damage, not necessarily to restore perfect optical clarity.
-
If the damage worsens during the repair, Cessnock Autoglass is not liable for the cost of replacement or any associated expenses.
-
We recommend replacement over repair if the chip is located in the driver’s line of sight, is larger than a 30mm diameter, or shows signs of spreading.
